Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups chicken stock homemade or store-bought
  • 2-3 tbsp butter for a silky finish
  • 1/4 cup flour to thicken the gravy
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 pinch thyme for added flavor
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 dash garlic powder optional
  • heavy cream optional, for extra richness
  • lemon juice optional, for brightness

Instructions
 

  • Heat a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add butter and let it melt completely.
  • Gradually add flour, stirring continuously until smooth and light golden brown.
  • Slowly pour in chicken stock while whisking constantly to prevent lumps.
  • Add salt, pepper, thyme, bay leaf, and garlic powder. Stir well and let simmer for 5-10 minutes.
  • For extra richness, add a splash of heavy cream. Remove the bay leaf before serving.
