  • Rolling Pin
  • Mixing bowls
  • Pastry Brush

Ingredients

Crust Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup cold butter cubed
  • 6-8 tbsp ice water as needed

Apple Filling

  • 3 cups apples peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar or brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp flour or cornstarch for thickening

Optional Enhancements

  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans for crunch
  • 1/4 cup raisins or cranberries for texture
  • 2 tbsp caramel for extra indulgence

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually add ice water, mixing until dough forms a ball.
  • Wrap dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  • In a bowl, mix apples, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and flour or cornstarch. Let sit for 10 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out chilled dough and cut into circles to fit the pie molds or muffin tin.
  • Spoon apple filling into each dough-lined mold. Optionally, add nuts, raisins, or caramel.
  • Top with another layer of dough or create a lattice design. Seal edges and cut a small slit for steam to escape.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, until crust is golden and filling is bubbly.
  • Let cool before serving. Enjoy with whipped cream or ice cream!
