Ingredients
  

Core Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp ginger grated
  • 2 tbsp sugar or honey
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp rice wine or mirin

Optional Enhancements

  • 1 tsp fermented soybean paste optional
  • 1 tbsp chopped green onions optional
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame seeds optional

Instructions
 

  • Measure out all ingredients.
  • In a medium bowl, mix soy sauce, gochujang, and sugar or honey.
  • Add minced garlic and grated ginger, stirring well.
  • Slowly whisk in sesame oil and rice wine or mirin until smooth.
  • Taste and adjust seasonings if needed.
  • Let the sauce rest for at least 30 minutes before use.

Notes

For a spicier sauce, add more gochujang or red pepper flakes. Substitute tamari for a gluten-free version.
