Ingredients
  

Cheese Ball Base

  • 16 oz cream cheese at room temperature
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese shredded, sharp variety recommended
  • 1/2 cup blue cheese crumbles optional, for bold flavor
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise adds smooth creaminess
  • 1/4 cup fresh herbs finely chopped chives, parsley, and dill
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • hot sauce a few dashes, optional
  • salt and pepper to taste

Coating

  • chopped pecans, walnuts, or cracker crumbs for rolling the cheese ball

Instructions
 

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, shredded cheddar, and blue cheese crumbles (if using). Mix until smooth.
  • Add the mayonnaise, fresh herbs, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce (if using). Mix thoroughly and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Shape the mixture into a ball, approximately 2 to 3 inches in diameter, and place it on parchment paper.
  • Roll the cheese ball in the chopped nuts or cracker crumbs for added texture and flavor.
  • Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow flavors to meld.
  • Before serving, let the cheese ball sit at room temperature for 10 minutes. Enjoy with crackers, sliced vegetables, or as a spread on bread.
