Creamed Spinach

A rich and creamy spinach dish, perfect as a side for steak, chicken, or fish.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 package frozen spinach approx. 10 oz
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream or substitute half-and-half for a lighter version
  • nutmeg a pinch
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Thaw the spinach in a colander, then squeeze out as much water as possible.
  • In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  • Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant (about 1 minute).
  • Stir in the spinach and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  • Pour in the heavy cream and add a pinch of nutmeg. Stir to combine.
  • Simmer on low heat for an additional 5 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Notes

Serve warm as a side dish with grilled steak, chicken, or fish.
