Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Gather all ingredients and tools before beginning.
Peel, core, and slice the apples into 1/2-inch thick wedges.
In an oven-safe skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in sugar and cook until it turns a rich amber caramel.
Arrange the apple slices over the caramel in a circular pattern. Add a squeeze of lemon juice and cook for 10–15 minutes until softened.
Remove from heat and drape puff pastry over the apples, tucking the edges around the inside of the skillet.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25–30 minutes until the puff pastry is golden brown.
Remove from oven and rest for 5 minutes. Invert the tart onto a serving plate.
Slice and serve warm, optionally with ice cream or cream.
Notes
Try adding a pinch of salt or cinnamon for extra depth. Best served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
