Instructions
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt.
Cut in the chilled butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Slowly add ice water until the dough comes together. Wrap and refrigerate for at least an hour.
Roll out the dough, transfer to a pie dish, and trim excess edges.
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Whisk together sugar, flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
Add eggs and whisk until smooth.
Stir in milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Fold in chocolate chips if using.
Pour the filling into the pie crust and bake for 45-50 minutes.
Let the pie cool completely before serving.
