Ingredients
  

Brownie Layer

  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder sifted
  • 4 oz chocolate melted
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup butter melted
  • 3/4 cup sugar

Cheesecake Layer

  • 16 oz cream cheese room temperature
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup sour cream optional

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a springform pan with parchment paper.
  • For the brownie layer, mix cocoa powder, flour, and salt in a bowl.
  • In another bowl, mix melted butter, sugar, and eggs.
  • Combine the wet and dry ingredients, then fold in melted chocolate.
  • Pour brownie batter into the prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes.
  • Let the brownie layer cool completely.
  • For the cheesecake layer, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth.
  • Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Mix in vanilla extract and sour cream.
  • Pour cheesecake batter over the cooled brownie layer.
  • Bake at 325°F (165°C) for 30-35 minutes, until edges are set but the center is slightly jiggly.
  • Cool at room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.

Notes

For best results, use high-quality chocolate and avoid overbaking the brownie layer.
